FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Prescription Refills : Please allow 48 hours for refills. Therefore, please call us or have your pharmacy call two days prior to the empty refill. Triplicate prescriptions must be picked up and filled within 7 days. If a duplicate prescription must be rewritten, there will be a $5.00 charge for the prescription.

Cancelling an Appointment : If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please notify the office at least 24 hours in advance. This courtesy will allow us to see other patients who need our services. No shows will be billed a $25.00 service fee.

After Hours and Emergencies: If a situation arises where after hours care is needed, please call (512) 323-5465 and you will be directed to the number you need to call.

Nurse Calls : Medical questions are normally called back within one hour from the time you call unless the nurse is extremely busy. If your circumstance is an emergency, please inform the receptionist and she will locate a nurse immediately.

Requests for Schools : Forms for school, day care and camp forms, immunization records or other similar forms usually require 48 hourss to complete.

Referrals to a Specialist: Should you need a referral to a specialist, your PCP is required to evaluate a patient's condition and necessity for a referral. If the referral is deemed necessary, the referral nurse will process the paper work. Many of our insurance companies require pre-authorization and take several days to complete. Please allow ample time if your current referral is ready to expire.

Attention Deficit Disorder Evaluation : Drs.Katalenas also provide counseling for children with Attention Deficit Disorders (ADD , ADHD) and other behavioral disorders. For more information about these services, please contact the office at (512) 733-5437
