Obtaining a complete, relevant history from parents and educators makes the Diagnosis of ADHD. The Pediatric Center of Round Rock offers evaluations for Children and Adolescents with concerns about ADHD, as well as information and support for parents.
A complete history will be taken at the time of the initial evaluation, and forms will be given for parents and teachers. We may need direct communication with the schoolteachers and other family members in order to make the diagnosis, and to monitor other related disorders.
Blood tests are not routinely necessary. If there is suspicion of a medical condition, that may or not be related to the patient’s ADHD symptoms, a complete laboratory evaluation and/or EKG may be ordered at the time of the first visit or at follow-up.
Our patients are monitored every 6 months, requiring a visit to the office and follow-up monitoring questionnaires given to parents and teachers.
